Bleeding, scabbing, or healing wounds in the waxing area

Active rashes, hives, or unexplained skin irritation

Active eczema flare-ups (redness, cracking, peeling, itching, or oozing)

Active psoriasis plaques or irritated patches in the waxing area

Severe sunburn, windburn, or skin that is peeling after sun exposure

Skin that is extremely sensitive, painful, or feels “raw”

Active cold sore outbreak or herpes outbreak in the treatment area

Open sores, blisters, or weeping lesions

Signs of a possible skin infection (increasing redness, warmth, swelling, pus, or worsening pain)

Fungal infections in the treatment area (such as ringworm)

Active bacterial infections or areas being treated for infection

Any contagious condition affecting the skin being treated

Use of prescription retinoids (such as tretinoin/Retin-A) on or near the treatment area

Use of oral isotretinoin (Accutane) currently or within the recommended timeframe after stopping

Use of strong exfoliating acids on the area (glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid, mandelic acid, etc.)

Use of retinol or prescription-strength anti-aging products on the area

Recent use of acne treatments that cause dryness, peeling, or increased sensitivity

Steroid creams applied to the treatment area unless cleared by a medical provider

Medications or treatments that make your skin more fragile or slow to heal

Chemical peels on the treatment area until the skin has fully healed

Laser hair removal or laser treatments until the skin has recovered

Dermaplaning, microdermabrasion, or aggressive exfoliation recently performed on the area

Fresh tattoos that are still healing

New piercings that are still healing

Recent cosmetic procedures that affect the skin barrier (allow healing time before waxing)

Any condition that causes unusually fragile or thin skin

Conditions that affect normal wound healing

Recent surgery near the treatment area

Areas with stitches, surgical incisions, or healing scars
